Healthy St. Pete Launches Healthier Together, Healthy St. Pete Ambassador Programs
St. Petersburg, FL (October 2019) – On Tuesday, October 8, Healthy St. Pete will launch the Healthier Together and the Community Ambassador Program, giving voice to community leaders and providing a new way for community members to interact.
Healthy St. Pete, working towards a culture of health, has created the Healthier Together Initiative. Healthier Together aims to begin conversations with local health and wellness experts as well as St. Petersburg residents.
Under the Healthier Together Initiative, Healthy St. Pete will utilize social media to engage the community as part of a new Community Ambassador Program. The goal is to increase education and awareness through a wide-range of topics, including fitness, nutrition, financial health, and more, discussed by local professionals, known as the Healthy St. Pete community ambassadors.
A new Community Ambassador will take over the Healthy St. Pete Facebook group with a new topic every other week. The community ambassador will have a conversation over Facebook live at the end of each takeover that will allow the community to participate in the conversation by asking questions and leaving comments.
The first community ambassador to take over is Jenny Miller, owner of The Body Electric Yoga Company. Miller will post advice, motivation and what health means to her. Stay tuned on this new program by joining the Healthy St. Pete Facebook group.
Healthy St. Pete, an initiative of the City of St. Petersburg and a division of the St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department, has a mission: to build a culture of health in St. Petersburg by making the healthy choice the easy choice through a collaborative, community effort.
